Our elderly patients should be more careful about their foot care than young and healthy people because the skin has lost its elasticity, got dryer, the nails have got thicker due to the circulatory disefficiency and callus under the them.
Our suggestions are:
- You should dry your feet very carefully after having a bath.
- You should have strong nail clippers which aren’t used by anyone else.
- You shouldn’t cut the edges of your nails. Otherwise, you can have ingrown nails.
- You should wear soft cotton socks.
You should visit our center at least twice a year even if you don’t have any problems so that we can help you get rid of hard and dry skin layer and clear the canals on your nails.
